Proyecto Agarra Una Ola (Project Catch a Wave)
We absolutely love volunteering with Carmen Kokot and team at this monthly event. After seeing a need in the area, Carmen an expat from Canada, took initiative and created this program for kids. The Catch a Wave Project is on a mission to make sure every local child in Playa Samara, Costa Rica has equal and ample opportunity to catch a wave. This surf driven project would use donations to supply surfboards for local kids to check out free of charge for a few hours everyday to hit the beach, pay local surf instructors to help promote safe surf, and help repair damaged or broken goods.
We're impressed by the impact this program is making. The kids love the experience and it's beautiful to see expats and locals come together for a great experience. Soccer Balls of Love
BlueZone supports Soccer Balls of Love, raising funds to buy soccer balls for underprivileged kids in Costa Rica and the United States. Every ball is hand delivered, hoping to make a significant impact on each child's day. Every ball carries love, joy and positive energy, not only to the recipients but to everyone supporting the exchange. Each moment is captured on film in order to keep growing this initiative. 5K Run for International Women's Day
BlueZone attended the SXSW conference and kicked off the week by running the International Women's Day 5K with 26.2 Team Milk x The Cut. Thanks for the invite to support a great cause and celebrate all of the sheroes in the world!
The Ocean Cleanup
We are proud supporters of the largest cleanup in history underway at The Ocean Cleanup a non-profit organization developing and scaling technologies to rid the oceans of trillions of pieces of plastic pollution. To achieve this objective, they use a dual strategy: intercepting plastic in rivers to cut the inflow of pollution, and cleaning up what has already accumulated in the ocean and won't go away by itself. Their goal is to clean up 90% of floating ocean plastic pollution and put themselves out of business.
